Traces of Movement
ink on paper, textile, installation
Hietsun Paviljonki, Helsinki
Traces of Movement (2016-2018) is a visual research on capturing the sense of movements in sound through graphical elements. The ink painting collection is drawn on imaginary sounds with various textures, speeds and kinetic tendencies. These static images are transferred onto a soft substrate as machine-knitted textile, giving them a fluid quality.
The project’s exhibition is comprised of the original artworks and the textile installation, accompanied by a quadraphonic soundscape created by the sound artist Kamil Korolczuk. Traces of Movement is held at Hietsun Paviljonki as part of the Helsinki Design week.
